BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder may be one of the most expensive places to live in Colorado, but it’s a reasonably affordable place to visit on vacation, according to TripAdvisor.
Boulder was included in the travel site’s list of ’20 best summer vacations in America to fit your budget,’ alongside major cities like Atlanta, Minneapolis and Dallas.
TripAdvisor says the list represents cities that offer “a perfect balance of affordability and fun.” In creating the list, TripAdvisor calculated the average cost of a week-long stay in a two-bedroom vacation rental – think homes, cabins and the like.
At $1,179 per week, Boulder landed in the fifth spot on the list. TripAdvisor says the city offers some of the best outdoor recreation and a vibrant nightlife. In particular, the editors highlighted Boulder’s “Meadow Music” concert series at Chautauqua Park, “Beer on the Bricks,” Saturday-night shows at Twenty Ninth Street and Boulder’s many breweries.
Delray Beach, at $955 per week, took the top spot on the list. Other than Boulder, Anaheim, California and Leavenworth, Washington were the only other Western U.S. cities to make the list.
