Ashley Marie Doolittle, 18, and her ex-boyfriend Tanner George Flores, also 18, were reported missing from Berthoud Thursday night.

Friday morning, investigators found Flores and his truck in Mesa County and recovered the body of a young woman.

Officials have not identified the body.

However, the Boulder County Fair and Rodeo Royalty Committee posted the following statement about Doolittle on Facebook on Friday:

"[We] would like to thank everyone for the support that has been extended by various royalty programs and individuals from across the state. Ashley was a blessing to this program and her legacy as 2017 Boulder County Fair and Rodeo Queen will live on forever. Please continue to pray for her family and encourage everyone to remember her as a great role model and ambassador for the sport we love so much."

The Facebook page has many photos of Doolittle representing the Rodeo Royalty Committee at various events.

Denver7's Kristin Skovira talked to Kim Madsen with the Boulder Valley Riders 4-H Club on Saturday.

"She represented the county and 4H and the entire horse industry impeccably," said Madsen. "She loved animals…horses have been a part of her life for a long long time."

"So many girls are concerned about how people view them and saying the right thing and doing the right thing. Ashley was herself… all the time," Madsen said. "She was fun, she was smiley… she could be goofy… she was a light… anywhere that she was."

"She would have done great things," said Madsen.

Doolittle's ex-boyfriend was taken into custody Friday morning, according to a statement released by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

Jail records posted on the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office website show Flores was booked on charges of murder in the first degree and second degree kidnapping.

Doolittle's family told investigators she recently ended a one-year relationship with Flores.

Flores was reportedly distraught over the recent breakup, the sheriff's office stated.
