DENVER – The City of Boulder is joining the Mile High City as one of the best cities to live in across this great, big land we like to call the United States of America.

Niche, a Pittsburgh-based ranking and review site, released their 2017 Best Places to Live rankings and Boulder came in at the No. 9 spot, beating Irvine, Calif.

Niche used city data from the U.S. Census, FBI, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as other sources for their rankines.

In their summary, Niche writes of Boulder: “Spray paint décor, a homeless person with dreadlocks on every corner, bicycling, bright colors, and the jagged foothills that line the west end of the sky. This is Boulder. If anything is gorgeously unusual, you can find it here.”

The City of Boulder was ranked below Overland Park in Kansas, Plano in Texas, Berkeley in California and Columbia in Maryland.

Ann Arbor, Mich., came in first place.

The website based their ranking on crime reports, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities.
