Body found in Sheldon Lake inside Fort Collins City Park

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Police in Fort Collins are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in Sheldon Lake inside City Park Wednesday.

Police say someone at the park called 911 around 6 p.m. to report that a possible body was floating in the lake.

Police arrived on scene a short time later and confirmed the gruesome discovery. An age, name or gender has not been released.

Police cannot say if the person’s death appears suspicious at this time. Police cleared the scene later in the evening.

Sheldon Lake is a popular fishing spot and is next to an outdoor municipal pool inside City Park off West Mulberry Street in northwest Fort Collins.
