LONGMONT, Colo. – Firefighters responding to a fire at a building in Longmont Monday evening found a person dead inside.
Firefighters said they responded to a business near the intersection of South Main Street and First Avenue around 6:40 p.m.
Crews were able to put out the fire within half an hour and upon entering the building, discovered a body inside.
Police, arson investigators and an investigator from the county coroner’s office were on scene Monday night to investigate the death.
Main Street is closed between First Avenue and Boston Avenue due to the investigation. The road is expected to be back open by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
