The Berthoud teenager accused of killing his ex-girlfriend appeared in court for the first time Monday.
According to the arrest affidavit, 18-year-old Tanner Flores admitted to police he killed 18-year-old Ashley Doolittle because he was upset over their recent breakup.
The courtroom was packed Monday with family and friends of Doolittle.
Flores is facing two charges of first degree murder and one charge of second-degree kidnapping.
According to arrest records, Flores told investigators he shot Doolittle twice in the head then drove her body to Mesa County.
Flores is being held without bond.
He’ll be in court again next week.
