GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State Patrol is responding to multiple crashes on US 285 as snow and ice build up.
The CSP tweeted Monday morning that the crashes occurred on the highway between Pleasant Park and Window Point. No other details were reported.

Meanwhile, blowing snow and icy conditions are creating hazardous conditions along the Interstate 70 mountain corridor.
Multiple crashes on Vail Pass prompted the Colorado Department of Transportation to shut down eastbound I-70 in the area. There is no estimated time of when it will reopen.

The National Weather Service is warning motorists to use extreme caution while driving in crosswinds and lowered visibility on the plains due to dust and the mountains due to extensive blowing snow.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect through Monday for most of our mountains towns for about 3-6" of snow.
