COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — An autopsy shows twenty gunshot wounds have been found on the body of a man killed by Colorado Springs police.

The Gazette reported Monday that the El Paso County Coroner's Office concluded that 38-year-old Joshua Vigil died July 23 of gunshot wounds to his head, back, chest and other areas.

Officials say Vigil had multiple substances in his system when he died including alcohol, methamphetamine and a metabolite of cocaine.

Authorities say Sgt. Mark Keller and officers Lucas Aragon and Cole Jones responded to a report of an armed man south of Denver before the man fled in a vehicle he crashed.

Police say "at least one officer fired a shot" after the man was found on foot.

Vigil is the fourth person killed by Colorado Springs police this year.
