Aurora teen who was 'riding on or hanging out of' vehicle dies after accident, police say

AURORA, Colo. – A 14-year-old boy died Monday after he suffered injuries in a traffic accident over the weekend in Aurora, police said.

The teen on Sunday was "either riding on or hanging out of a vehicle" that was being driven by a 17-year-old boy when the car came to an abrupt stop on Marguerite Parkway in the Mission Viejo neighborhood, a police news release said. The victim came off the vehicle and was later taken to a hospital for treatment. He died Monday, police said.

The identities of the victim and the juvenile driver haven't been released. Police were still investigating the incident Wednesday.
