AURORA, Colo. — Residents in an Aurora neighborhood were evacuated Tuesday as police worked toward a resolution with a barricaded man who allegedly threatened his family with a gun.

At 1:09 pm., the Aurora Police Department announced the man had left the home and was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to the scene — a mobile park near Cimarron Circle and E. 13th Avenue — Tuesday before noon.

A heavy police presence, including SWAT and a K9, was in the area. All neighboring residents were evacuated, but were allowed back home after the suspect was taken into custody.

Police said the man, who had a gun, was menacing toward family members. He fired shots before police arrived.

Aurora police said they were working toward a peaceful resolution.

The public was asked to avoid the area.
