AURORA, Colo. — On Tuesday morning, the Aurora Police Department asked residents to avoid the area around E. 13th Place and N. Jasper Street for a police investigation.

Neighbors were asked to shelter in place for about an hour before the order was lifted around 8:45 a.m.

Faith Goodrich with the Aurora Police Department said they received a 911 call around 5:10 a.m. about multiple people moving a large number of guns from a vehicle into a residence.

She said police discovered the vehicle had also been used during a burglary around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday morning around E. 3rd Avenue and N. Airport Road.

Multiple officers and SWAT arrived to the scene, police said.

At 8:45 a.m., the department said it had safely contacted the people inside the home. The investigation will continue, but police said it is now safe to be in the area.
