AURORA, Colo. -- What started as a police pursuit in Denver ended in an officer-involved shooting in Aurora Sunday afternoon.
Denver Police shot the suspect, described by police as a man in his 30s, in east Aurora near Alameda Parkway and East Ohio Drive. No officers were injured in the shooting. Paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The unidentified suspect was released from the hospital around 3 p.m. and was booked into the Aurora city jail on several charges. Police have yet to release a mug shot.
The pursuit began around noon when Denver officers were called to a home in the Montbello Neighborhood. Police say the suspect brandished a gun at someone in the home and then took off.
Responding officers pursued the suspect's silver sedan south on Peoria Street and then east on Interstate 70 and eventually into Aurora, where he sped into the parking lot of Robinwood Condominiums. Denver Police say the suspect pointed a gun at officers at one point during the chase.
