Aurora police arrest woman in shooting investigation

AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department arrested a woman for second-degree murder following a deadly parking lot shooting.

The unidentified victim died at an area hospital after police found him in the parking lot at Mariscos El Ray, located at 10293 E. Iliff Ave, on Dec. 23 around 8 p.m. Multiple people called 911 to report the shooting.

Initial information suggested there was a disturbance in the parking lot that led to the shooting. Investigators don't know if the victim and shooter knew each other.

APD arrested Jacqueline De Paz, 28, for second-degree murder Dec. 24.

The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim once next of kin have been notified. Anyone with information on the homicide investigation is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
