DENVER — As the City of Denver remains shrouded in clouds and is hit by soggy showers, temperatures in the Centennial State feel a little bit more like fall than they do the dog days of Summer.

According to Denver7's First Alert Meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo, parts of Colorado will see between a quarter to a half-inch of rain as showers continue to pop up and hit various parts of the front range.

Those showers will last throughout the afternoon and evening, but the chilly temperatures will last even longer.

With a high of just 68 degrees, Coloradans may be reminded of a day in the first week of October — when that high temp would be average.

Currently, that's more than 20 degrees below average. Heat will slowly trickle back into the Denver metro area by the end of the week, however.

On Thursday and Friday, you can expect temperatures to be closer to average — but still below — when highs reach about 80 degrees.

The possibility of afternoon storms will persist each day throughout the week.
