EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – Federal agents are investigating a burglary at a Colorado Springs gun store in which the suspects made off with at least one automatic weapon and dozens of other guns.

KRDO reports that the burglary happened around midnight Monday at the Dragonman gun store, which also sells historical memorabilia.

The suspects were caught on camera, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents have several suspects in custody. The ATF told Colorado Springs affiliate KRDO it was still taking inventory to determine how many weapons had been taken.

The ATF is now handling the investigation after taking over for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. It told KRDO that most of the firearms had been recovered by Monday afternoon.

The overnight burglary is just the latest in a string of gun store burglaries and smash-and-grabs along the Front Range over the past several months.
