AURORA, Colo. – One person is dead and four other people were injured as three houses were damaged in a fire early Wednesday morning just east of Del Mar Elmwood Park.
The Aurora Fire Department said crews were called out to a home in the 12000 block of East 7th Avenue at 7:30 a.m. that was engulfed in flames.
Aurora Fire says crews had to fight heavy smoke and flames while battling the fire, which eventually spread to two others homes and several vehicles.
A spokesperson for the fire department says four people were injured aside from the person who died. One remains in critical condition at an area hospital, according to an spokesperson for Aurora Fire.
