Arvada Police say a man assaulted by a woman on Sunday night had to go to the hospital.

Arvada Police were called to 7105 W. 66th Ave. just before 9 p.m.

The victim and suspect live at the same house. He was cut on his hand and arm. Doctors also observed a blunt force trauma to his face.

Officers say Tricia Sparks, 50, refused to leave her home at first. She eventually surrendered and was transported to Jefferson County Jail.

She's charged with first-degree assault.

A family member of Sparks tells Denver7 the victim is her husband.
