DENVER – In Denver’s red-hot real estate market, homes sell faster than just about anywhere else in the country, but some styles of home are in higher demand and spend less time on the market.
Real estate site HomeLight looked at data on various styles in the Mile High City and found that bungalows sell the fastest, leaving the market in an average of 85 days. Built around the turn of the 20th century and known for their solid construction, bungalows are quickly snatched up and command a higher price than some of the other popular styles.
The Tudor style is the second-fastest home style in Denver at 95 days on the market.
Here are the 10 most common styles, along with the average number of days on the market:
1. Bungalow – 85 days
2. Tudor – 95 days
3. Victorian – 97 days
4. Traditional – 104 days
5. Denver Square – 105 days
6. Mountain Contemporary – 111 days
7. Rustic Contemporary – 120 days
8. Contemporary – 123 days
9. Chalet – 124 days
10. Cabin – 128 days
The map below shows how each of the 10 most common styles are distributed around the city. Some styles, like Victorian and the Denver Square, are mostly in the central portion of the city, while traditional and contemporary styles are often found farther out.
Looking for the most affordable style? HomeLight says that would be the traditional style, which is a simple, one-story box style of home that was mass produced around the time of World War II and is the most prevalent city-wide.
