Arapahoe Road was closed for more than five hours Saturday morning as the sheriff's office investigated a crash that claimed the life of cyclist.
The crash involving a car and a bicycle occurred around 6:40 a.m., according to Julie Brooks with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.
Arapahoe Road was closed between Waco Street and South Chapparal Circle, west of Grandview High School.
The sheriff's office warned drivers they would need to use alternate routes to get to the wrestling tournament at the high school.
Drivers trying to get to the school from the west were told to go north on South Buckley Road to Orchard Road then East on Smoky Hill road and south on Picadilly Street.
Alt route for e/b traffic is N on Buckley to Orchard, Orchard east to Smoky Hill, East on SH to Picadilly. S on Picadilly right to school
