ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — A drama teacher at Arapahoe High School has been arrested on suspicion of child sexual assault.
Ian Ahern, 41, turned himself into Arapahoe County authorities Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. A booking photo has not been released.
Ahern is accused of sexually assaulting a female student five years ago, according to a news release from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
The allegations came to light through a Safe2Tell notification, and after a thorough investigation, deputies developed probable cause to believe Ahern committed the crime, the release read.
Ahern was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ahern has been employed by Littleton Public Schools since 2010 as the drama teacher at Arapahoe High School.
