ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — A small grass fire that charred over 100 acres in rural Arapahoe County Wednesday came dangerously close to homes.

Crews were called out around noon after flames, and smoke filled the air around South Tom Bay Road at East Quincy Avenue.

By the time crews arrived, the fire had spread, coming close to homes. Mandatory evacuations were issued before the fire was fully contained.

No structures were lost, and no injuries were reported.

Fire investigators said the fire was accidentally caused by agricultural equipment.
