Arapahoe County Deputies seek lottery scammers who bilked $45k from unsuspecting woman

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- The Arapahoe Sheriff’s Office is looking for two people who swindled a woman out of $45,000 in a lottery scam caught on camera.

On Oct. 20, the 60-year-old victim was approached at a store in the 2300 block of E. Arapahoe Road by a woman who said she needed help to claim a lottery prize.

A second male suspect approached saying he would assist. The male scammer called a number on the woman’s “lottery ticket,” and after speaking on the phone, said he would be right back with money to help the woman claim her lottery prize. The victim also agreed to help.

After the man returned with cash, the three drove to a bank where the victim withdrew $45,000 from her bank account. The two suspects then drove off with the victim’s cash.

The first suspect is a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. The second suspect is a Hispanic male between 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall. They were last seen in a white SUV.
