LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Several residents of a Lakewood apartment complex were evacuated after the building’s roof collapsed Sunday afternoon.

No one was injured after the collapse at the apartment building near West 9th Avenue and Wadsworth, but residents in 24 other units were asked to leave after fears the roof over a second building could fail.

West Metro Fire crews responded to Maplewood Village Apartments around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Images from the scene shows the roof in the middle of the building gave way. It's not clear what caused the roof to fall or why crews fear a second collapse.
