Amber Alert issued for missing 12-year-old boy from Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 12-year-old boy out of Aurora.

Liam Sweezey was picked up by his mother, Nikki Sweezey, Friday and has not been returned to his home, Aurora police said. The mother’s custody status is unclear.

Police said Liam requires medication, which he does not have. He has brown hair, brown eyes and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 134 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and green shorts. He was last seen along the 1600 block of S. Buckley Road in Aurora with Nikki around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police believe he is traveling with Nikki in a 2010 light blue Honda Fit, with Colorado license plate number BVV-937.

At 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Aurora police said the vehicle was seen at 2:30 p.m. Saturday east of Grand Junction.

Nikki Sweezey is 31 years old with brown hair (was previously blond), green eyes and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

Anybody who sees either person is asked to call 911.
