LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Five of eight adults involved in a youth baseball brawl that broke out during a game at West Gate Park last month agreed to a plea deal.

The five individuals cited for disorderly conductin connection with the June 15 incident applied for the diversion program during a court appearance in Lakewood Monday. On Tuesday, two more people pleaded guilty and applied to enter the probation diversion program.

If approved, the defendants would have their guilty pleas removed after completing a probationary period. They’ll be back in court in September.

The three other adults cited for the videotaped brawl widely shared on social media asked for a continuance in their cases during Monday’s court appearance.

Police said in total, 15 to 20 people were involved in the baseball fight — among them two Denver Public Works employees, who remain on administrative leave.

The brawl was sparked after the 13-year-old umpire made a call that upset a coach on one of the teams.
