ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. – A large plume of smoke near the interchange of Interstate 25 and Interstate 70 marks the spot where a fire flared up at a recycling plant Wednesday.
Adams County fire crews responded to fire at 645 West 53rd Avenue around 1 p.m. Crews had the fire extinguished 30 minutes later, but thick smoke continues to billow out and can be seen for miles.
Crews say it will take some time to pull debris from the plant and soak it down.
It’s not clear how the fire started. No injuries were reported.
