DENVER – The train to the plane was yet again stuck on the tracks after a snapped wire brought the fast-moving train to a screeching halt Thursday morning. At least 79 passengers onboard RTD's A Line were stranded for some time before being evacuated.
RTD says the train was heading to the airport around 8 a.m. when the train’s pantograph, the apparatus mounted on the roof to collect power, damaged the overhead wires, causing it to snap.

The train lost power and came to a stop near Chambers Road. The stranded passengers were taken off the train and bussed the rest of the way to the airport.
Passengers heading to the airport on the A Line experienced delays of up to an hour or more. Trains went only as far as the Central Park Station and passengers were bused the rest of the way.
Repairs were completed and the A Line reopened around 4 p.m.
The beleaguered A Line has been fraught with problems since it began operations in 2016.
