7 Coloradans pocket thousands of dollars from Mega Millions

Seven Mega Millions players in Colorado were just one number away from winning the $1.6 billion jackpot. But they aren’t empty-handed. In fact, several Coloradans were able to pocket thousands of dollars.

Here is where the those tickets were purchased, according to the Colorado Lottery:

  • $30,000 winning ticket purchased at Safeway fuel stop on N. Rampart Range Road in Littleton
  • $30,000 winning ticket purchased at 7-Eleven on N. Sheridan in Denver
  • $10,000 winning ticket purchased at King Soopers on W. Florida Avenue in Denver
  • $10,000 winning ticket purchased at King Soopers on Lookout Road in Boulder
  • $10,000 winning ticket purchased at C&K Food & Gas on N. Pecos in Denver
  • $10,000 winning ticket purchased at King Soopers on N. 50th Avenue in Brighton
  • $10,000 winning ticket purchased at Stinker Store on W. Hampden in Englewood

Forty people in Colorado won a $1,500 prize.

In addition, a resident in Parker won a Cash 5 jackpot Tuesday evening after purchasing a ticket from King Soopers on Cottonwood Drive, according to the Colorado Lottery. The person won $20,000.

The Mega Millions winning ticket was purchased in South Carolina. The winning numbers were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 5.

The jackpot had been steadily growing since July. The chance of winning this jackpot — the biggest Mega Millions jackpot in history — was one in 302.5 million.
