GREELEY, Colo -- The Weld County Sheriff's Office announced Friday a 6th arrest in connection to the biker gang murder of Tara Lewandowski.

Deputies arrested Thomas Vassil, 54, of Nunn, on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the alleged biker-gang hit on the Pierce woman.

Deputies arrested Vassil about a year after five bikers, including a Pierce town board member, were charged with Lewandowski’s murder. She went missing in September of last year. Authorities found her remains in Wyoming in May.

The five other suspects - Chad Iler, Daniel Meyer, Michael Vassil, Scott Hanchett, Karly Hanchett, and Crystal Griffin - are being held in the Weld County Jail.

Court documents show Meyer told deputies he killed Lewandowski after a hit was approved by his biker gang leader over an argument about drugs.

He is described in the affidavit as an "enforcer" in a gang called "21" or the "21ers," but Meyer is also listed as a trustee on the Pierce Town Board.
