Littleton Police were trying to contact the driver of the sedan because the driver's roommate had requested a welfare check.
Police said the driver of the sedan failed to yield and collided with the back of the SUV, pushing the SUV into the red truck.
The driver of the sedan and a woman and her son who were in the SUV have serious injuries but everyone is expected to survive, according to police.
