2 out-of-state campers plead guilty to arson in Cold Springs Fire

BOULDER, Colo. – The two out-of-state campers accused of sparking the Cold Springs Fire pled guilty to arson charges.

Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, both of Vinemont, Ala. pleaded guilty fourth-degree arson Friday.

The two are accused of starting the 500-acre wildfire that destroyed eight homes and prompted the evacuation of thousands near Nederland in July.

Authorities say the two men, along with a woman, were camping on private property and failed to properly extinguish a campfire they started.

They are scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 18.
