LOVELAND, Colo. -- A sleeping family in Loveland got a rude awakening early Tuesday morning when a large tree came crashing through their home, missing the couple's bed by only inches. A 10-week-old child inside the home also escaped injury.
Strong winds knocked the 100-year-old tree down and onto the home near US 34 and Cascade Avenue in west Loveland. The tree caused significant damage to the family's home but narrowly missed an adjacent house.
Crews will saw the tree in slices and remove them using a crane.
Strong and gusty winds will continue through the day and has prompted a red flag warning for the area.
