FREDERICK, Colo. — Two people were found dead after a house fire near Frederick in Weld County Friday night.
Firefighters were called around 10:50 p.m. to a report of a fire at a residence located in the 240 block of Tipple Parkway in the Evanston community.
Crews from surrounding agencies responded to the fire. There was no report the fire spread or caused any other injuries.
Investigators were at the scene of the fire Saturday and discovered the home did not have working smoke alarms, according to a release from the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District.
The identity of the victims will be released at a later time. It’s still not clear what caused the fire. The fire and two fatalities remain under investigation.
