ELIZABETH, Colo. — A 19-year-old is being held on a suspicion of first-degree murder charge after police found a deceased woman at a home Wednesday evening.
That day, around 8:45 p.m., officers with the Elizabeth Police Department were dispatched to a home to investigate a report of an attack on a woman, according to the department.
When they arrived on scene, officers found a 56-year-old woman who had died.
Police arrested 19-year-old Christopher Sanders Leary, who was also at the home, according to the department.
Leary appeared in Elbert District Court on Thursday for advisement. He is being held without bond on suspicion of first-degree murder.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for filing of charges.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.
