A 17 year old is accused of shooting and killing an 18 year old in Englewood Saturday night.

Police say the victim, identified by the coroner on Monday as lit Singh, was shot in the parking lot of a mobile home park on South Santa Fe Drive near Rob Roy Street sometime before 9:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the victim and the 17-year-old suspect, Sgt. Brian Cousineau told Denver7.

The teen suspect was taken into custody and is now charged with second degree murder.

The suspect's name is not being released because he is a juvenile.

A friend tells Denver7 that the two teens were with another friend outside playing with an unloaded gun.

"The 17 year old, he was saying like 'let's put bullets in it and the other one didn't want to until like they did put it," said Elizabeth Manraque, "and he was just shooting the gun he didn't know how to use it until he got the other guy and he shot him in the head."

Manraque says she knew both of the teens involved.

"He was a nice guy," she said of the victim, who calls the victim Quique. "He was chill with us but the fact that we found out that he's dead now it's upsetting because we barely got to know him and he had something ahead of him."

The mother of the third teen who witnessed the shooting says her son told her the shooting was an accident.

Englewood Police have not yet said what exactly lead to the shooting or whether it was by mistake.
