LAFAYETTE, Colo. — A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in Lafayette Sunday, and a juvenile has been charged for the crime.

The Lafayette Police Department received a call at 1:07 a.m. Sunday that a 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound had been brought by private vehicle to Good Samaritan Hospital. He died from his injuries.

Lafayette investigators obtained information at the hospital that led them to a home in the 400 block of West Oak Street in Lafayette. An accidental shooting was reported to have occurred at the home.

Investigators identified a juvenile who was suspected to be involved, according to police. The juvenile was booked on a charge of manslaughter and released to parents. Police said the parents and the juvenile were cooperative in responding to the department.
