DENVER – A teenager shot and killed in southeast Denver on Wednesday has been identified as a 14-year-old boy, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Treaujalaune Lornes was shot just before 5:15 p.m. in the area of East Mexico Avenue and South Monaco Parkway. The medical examiner confirmed the manner of death was a homicide.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died, police confirmed later Wednesday. Police were still investigating the shooting Thursday and more information had not been released.
Lornes was a freshman at George Washington High School in Denver, according to his family. A candlelight vigil for the teen was planned for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at South Monaco and East Mexico, where the shooting happened.
