Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado. Denver7 is proud to support this year’s tenth anniversary of Colorado Gives Day, presented by Community First Foundationand FirstBank, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

To celebrate 10 years of Colorado Gives Day, we’ve compiled 10 reasons to give:

1. Everybody loves birthdays, and Colorado Gives Day turns 10 this year.

2. Colorado Proud: Colorado is a great place to live and by supporting our nonprofits, donors keep it great. Nonprofits are solving some of our biggest problems, from housing to mental health; they are on the ground finding solutions that make sense in our communities.

3. Mobile: All contributions are made through ColoradoGives.org, so donors can support their favorite nonprofit from the comfort of their couch in their favorite pajamas.

4. Choices: With more than 2,500 participating nonprofits to choose from, donors are sure to find an organization that matches their interests.

5. Fast: Donors save time by donating to multiple nonprofits in one transaction. Supporters can get all of their year-end donations made at one time.

6. Family Affair: Colorado Gives Day is the perfect time to introduce young people, like your children or grandchildren, to the joy of giving. There is an entire section of the Colorado Gives Day website developed just for kids with videos, quizzes and games. Click hereto visit Kids for ColoradoGives.

7. Safe: The Colorado Gives website is safe and secure, and all participating nonprofits are vetted and confirmed to be in good standing with the IRS and the Colorado Secretary of State.

8. Your dollar goes further: All donations made on Colorado Gives Day get a boost from the $1 million incentive fund created by Community First Foundation and FirstBank.

9. Be part of something big: Since it started in 2010, Colorado Gives Day has raised more than $217 million for Colorado nonprofits.

10.Joy: Most importantly, supporters can experience the joy of giving!
