LAKEWOOD, Colo. — West Metro Fire is responding to a five-unit apartment fire near Allison Street and W. 12th Avenue in Lakewood.
Authorities at the scene told Denver7 crews that one person was transported to the hospital with injuries not related to the fire. All other residents were able to escape safely. Two dogs were rescued.
The fire is under control, according to West Metro Fire. There is heavy damage to one unit.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
