1 man dead, another injured in early-morning shooting Sunday in Thornton

THRONTON, Colo. – One of the two people who were shot early Sunday morning in Thornton has since died, police said Monday morning.

The shooting happened 1:15 a.m. Sunday near E. 125th Place and Dexter Way. Thornton police tweeted just after 2 a.m. that two people had been taken to hospitals and that there were a number of officers in the area.

Police spokesman Matt Barnes said Monday morning that both of the victims were adult men and that one of them had died Sunday night. Barnes said the other victim was still hospitalized in an unknown condition.

Police said they were looking for help in identifying leads or getting ahold of surveillance video from the area from the time of the shooting and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
