ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo -- A man was killed in a crash on Interstate 70 late Sunday afternoon.
Troopers responded to the eastbound lanes of I-70 east of Powhatan Road around 4:30 p.m.
A man driving a 2005 GMC truck was heading westbound when he drifted onto the shoulder, according to Trooper Tim Sutherland, with the Colorado State Patrol.
The driver overcorrected and hit the median, Sutherland told Denver7.
The driver and the truck were thrown into the eastbound lanes of the Interstate.
The driver died at the scene.
A second vehicle hit some road debris caused by the initial crash. No one was injured in that vehicle, according to Sutherland.
The Interstate was closed in both directions East of Powhatan Road.

Travelers were advised to detour on Highway 36.
It was unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash.
The victim's name was not released.
