DENVER — Colorado State Patrol is looking for a person of interest after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Adams County Monday night.
The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. in Berkley near southbound Highway 287 and W. 66th Avenue.
Troopers say a black Mercedes-Benz GL320 motorcycle was going south on Highway 287 near 66th Avenue when it was hit by another vehicle. The driver left the scene.
Two Denver residents were on the motorcycle, a 38-year-old man and a 46-year-old man.
The 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 46-year-old man was taken to a medical facility with injuries that officials believe are serious.
Authorities found the vehicle, a white Ford F-150, they believe hit the motorcycle near Decatur Street just south of W. 67th Place. It was abandoned at the time. Damage to the vehicle matches the crash, investigators say.
A person of interest has been identified, state patrol says. They are working to find that person and are continuing to investigate. Information about the person of interest hasn't yet been released.
Roads closed in the area but reopened around 2:20 a.m.
