DENVER — One person was injured after a large fire broke out at a Denver home Tuesday afternoon.
Denver firefighters arrived at 2210 West Jewell Avenue around 2:30 p.m. and found the house fully engulfed.
One person inside the home escaped through a back window but suffered burns. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
A woman getting into her car nearby told Denver7 she saw a man inside the burning house pounding on a window trying to get out.
After breaking through the window, the man, covered in blood, jumped on her car and told her he needed to get far away — but she wasn't budging. She said the victim eventually made it to a neighbor's home where he called 911.
Denver fire investigators told Denver7 initial reports suggested a Molotov cocktail was used to spark the blaze, but those reports have not been confirmed. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
