BOULDER, Colo. – A chef and a bartender at a restaurant are being called brave for how they responded after a deadly shooting. The two men, Bryan Daniels and Griffin Farro, disarmed the suspect and held him down until police showed up.

One person is a dead after a shooting near Bramble and Hare, a restaurant by Boulder’s Pearl Street mall. The suspect is in custody thanks in part to the staff inside who intervened.

Police said it appeared two people got into an argument inside the restaurant and then moved outside, where the shooting took place. The two people then went back inside the restaurant and more shots may have been fired, police said. Another witness confirms that statement, telling Denver7 at least one shot was fired inside.

An adult male victim was taken to Boulder Community Health, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers have not identified either the suspect or victim. The Boulder Daily Camera reported the arrest of Louis Joseph Sebastian, 32, who is listed in Boulder County Jail records as under suspicion of first-degree murder after deliberation. Sebastian was booked into the jail at 6 a.m. Monday morning.

Bramble & Hare management said they are heartbroken by the event and are extending help to those traumatized by the shooting.

"Since Bramble & Hare opened nearly five years ago, the food-focused bistro has never experienced violence of any kind. We will work with staff to help them deal with any post-event stress and trauma. And again, our hearts are broken for the victim’s family," a statement read.

Denver7 is working to learn additional details and will update this story when more information is available.
