1 dead in crash at U.S. 287 and Arapahoe Road

LAFAYETTE, Colo. – One person was killed and another injrued a crash in unincorporated Boulder County Wednesday morning.

The Colorado State Patrol said two vehicles were involved in the crash at U.S. 287 and Arapahoe Road at about 5:30 a.m.

Troopers said a 25-year-old man driving a 2017 Mitsubishi was killed. The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old woman in a 2012 Honda, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the crash.

CDOT closed the highways in both directions and advised drivers to find alternate routes through the area. Highway 287 was reopened shortly before 9 a.m. but officials said Arapahoe Road remained closed.
