1 dead, 3 seriously injured in 2-vehicle crash near Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A two-vehicle crash near Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City left one dead and seriously injured three others, including two children, Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:20 p.m.. at the intersection of Prairie Parkway and Victory Way adjacent to the stadium’s parking lot.

A GMC van was eastbound on Prairie Parkway when it collided with a Ford Fusion that was turning westbound off of Victory Way, according to a release from the Commerce City Police Department.

The adult male driver, along with an adult female and two children from the Ford, were extracted and transported to an area hospital with what is believed to be serious injuries, the release stated.

The driver of the Ford later died from his injuries.

The male adult driver and male adult passenger of the GMC van were also transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries.

It is not known at this time if alcohol was a factor, police said.
