Standoff ends at 38th & Sheridan in Wheat Ridge

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. -- A multi-agency standoff has ended in Wheat Ridge.

It started just before 4 a.m. after police stopped a vehicle, with a wanted man inside, in the King Soopers parking lot at 38th and Sheridan.

Police told Denver7 that one person got out of the vehicle immediately and cooperated with authorities.

However, the second person, the wanted man, was in a standoff with police for about an hour. Officers from several jurisdictions were called in to help with the situation.

Just before 5 a.m., the second man got out of the vehicle and was taken into custody.

Wheat Ridge police said Lakeside and Denver police assisted with the situation.
