Possible arsonist wanted by Wheat Ridge police after series of fires

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. -- A possible arsonist is on the loose and the Wheat Ridge Police Department is asking for your help to find him. 

Both Wheat Ridge PD and the Arvada Fire Protection District are investigating the following series of fires as potential arson:

Laundry room fire - Oct. 10 at 10:58 p.m.

Wheat Ridge police officers responded to a fire in the laundry room at the Best Interstate Inn at 4735 Kipling Street. Two witnesses extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of Arvada Fire.

Fire at apartment complex - Oct. 21 at 11:22 p.m.

Wheat Ridge police officers responded to reports of a fire at Kipling Village at 4635 Kipling Street. On arrival, police determined the fire was in the stairwell and Arvada Fire responded.

Fire at American Motel - Oct. 28 at 4:40 a.m.

Wheat Ridge police officers were dispatched to help Arvada Fire firefighters at the American Motel at 10101 West I-70 Frontage Road to help with evacuation for a fire on the south side of the building.

Fire at Best Interstate Inn - Oct. 31 at 1:23 a.m.

Wheat Ridge police officers were dispatched to assist with a fire at the Best Interstate Inn at 4735 Kipling Street. Arvada Fire was already on the scene of the fire which appeared to have started in the stairwell on the east side of the building.

Wheat Ridge Police and Arvada Fire Department are seeking the public’s help with these suspected arson fires. Anyone who witnessed or has knowledge of these incidents is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867; anyone in the areas of the Best Interstate Inn, American Motel or Kipling Village during these time frames is also urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
