A driver may have been drunk when an SUV he was driving backed up into a Wheat Ridge home Sunday evening, a Wheat Ridge Police spokesperson said.

Three people were inside the home at the time, but none were injured. "It's a miracle," said the homeowner's grandson.

The crash happened in the area of North Harlan Street and West 32nd Avenue at around 6:05 p.m.

When West Metro firefighters arrived to the scene, they found part of the living room's brick wall gone. Crews remained at the scene for more than an hour to make sure the rest of the wall did not cave in.

The grey, Chevrolet SUV that slammed into the home no longer had a rear window, and a piece of brick remained on the roof of the car as investigators worked the scene.

Alcohol is suspected in this crash. The suspect's identity was not immediately released.
