The body of a man found in a ditch near a field in Weld County has left authorities wondering how the person died.
At around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a farmer reported he had found a body in a ditch in the area of Weld County Road 49 and Weld County Road 66. The farmer had been performing routing farming work in the area, according to Matt Turner, spokesperson for the Weld County Sheriff's Office.
"The condition of the body suggests that it has been there for a long period of time. The identity of the individual and the cause of death are unknown at this time," Turner said in a statement sent to Denver7.
This is an ongoing investigation.
